Tonight’s agenda

Stop by Home Depot to get a new engine for my trimmer. I tried replacing the fuel line and now its feeding fuel but won’t start. I have to trim and mow (again) tonight.

Pick up the kiddo from her grandmom’s.

Keep an eye on the weather because it looks like rain and my kiddos party is outside. We don’t have anything to do inside. Might need to plan for that.

Yeah, plan indoor activities.

Pay bills

Nothing like a shit storm at work as soon as you start your day to give you warm fuzzies.

Feeling awesome because you identified the problem and got everyone moving makes the day a little brighter.

I get really frustrated when I’ve been working on an issue with a customer since February and suddenly the situation changes up entirely.  Then i discover the problem happened in February, didn’t happen in March, then happened in April and this month.  And during April their server crashed so I have NO idea what happened after that was put back together.

Very frustrating; I hate when I can’t figure out a problem.

I am feeling ignored lately. Just in general to some degree but there are some specific people and I’m not sure if I upset them in some way.

At the same time I’ve felt like strangers are looking at me like I’m some creepy guy. I’ll snap a pic in a bit of my everyday face and see what you think. I knower I don’t smile much but eesh.

Things to do by 12 pm Saturday:
Mow the yard
Trim the yard
Pressure wash the deck
Help clean the house
Pay bills
Pick up my daughter’s new bike

Keep in mind I an or of the house from 6:20 am to roughly 7 pm tomorrow and Friday. I alsoknow I’m forgetting something.

Small side salad to go with my small sandwich (ate before I got camera happy).

Was doing great today and suddenly it just went downhill.

We went bowling today for Mother’s Day.  We had a great time.  I haven’t been in three years so I didn’t break 160.  Keep in mind three years ago I was in a league with a 195 average.

In our third game something happened in my right ankle.  I don’t know what it was but it nearly put me to the floor.  I hobbled back to the table and sat down just clutching my ankle and wondering if I somehow broke it, you know… bowling.  Lamest break ever, right?  Oh yeah, have I ever mentioned that I broke three toes when I was a teen because one of my bowling balls rolled out of my locker and landed on my foot from three or four feet up?  And also cracked both my kneecaps as a teen because the shoes I had on got something sticky on them and rather than slide they stuck and to not fall on my face I kinda jumped but in poor execution landed on my knees.  Yeah, totally the clumsiest bowler I guess.  Anyway, I digress.

So that happened but I managed to hobble up to the line, roll my ball and keep on bowling.  By the time we left I was in pretty bad pain but it had dulled down some.  Then the migraine set in.  I wasn’t quite home when it went in full force.  During a migraine I’m nauseous and very sensitive to light and sound.  My head throbs.  I got home and dropped something on my other foot and for a second I thought I’d cracked a toe or something.

Freakin great.

Took a tramadol when I got into the house and dozed for maybe 20 minutes after dinner.  I woke up and I’ve been wide awake for hours.  My head still hurts and I think I’m going to bail on Mother’s day plans for my former mother-in-law.

Fat problem #133

It does not do well for one’s self-esteem if their office chair breaks when sitting down.

I will admit I’ve had this chair for a long time (10 years? 11?) but its done well.  The other day it cracked very loudly but I couldn’t find a problem.  Today the front portion on the seat bottom broke bad.  I can still sit on the back of the seat portion for the moment but its on its way out the door.

Only if it were free or someone graciously gave me tickets.  That’s more than my car payment and at the moment I struggle just to make my monthly bills.

Non-fitness

I love many genres of music but when it comes to my workouts I often listen to techno/electronic music for cardio.  I’ve been to a few shows in my time and the energy of those shows were absolutely amazing.

The link below is for a show called Tomorrowland, which is really more of a three day festival/musical event.  This year they are bringing it to the U.S. and the location is all of 30 minutes from my house.  Watching that trailer, I would LOVE to go to this show.  Tickets though are about $350 for a day and about $800 for the full pass.  Expected attendance is roughly 160,000 if I remember correct what I saw regarding the number of tickets they were selling.  Folks, there are probably half a dozen surrounding towns and small cities within 20 miles of this place and the total population doesn’t go that high.  Athens (a little further away) is a big college town and probably hits close to that mark.

Ben said: I hadn’t considered that but I do recall folks taking about “heart attack hill” on the Peachtree Road Race.

Milestone

I weighed myself this morning.  I haven’t been paying much attention to the scale the last couple of months although I did occasionally hop on it.

This morning: 265.2.

One of my milestones was to get below 265 and stay there.  I was around 265 - 270 when I got married almost 10 years ago.  I was well over 265 at some point judging from a number of pictures I’ve seen of myself.  My guess is I hit at least 320 at my peak but I never touched a scale so I don’t know.  I was scared to know.

Of course my next goal is 250.  I was 245 in my freshman year of high school and just went up from there.  I want to hit that weight again.  I want to keep working at cross-training and running so I can hopefully get to a point to train for a half.  I’d love to do the Atlanta half next year.  I’d love for some of you folks to do it too!

Ladies…

You may not think so our feel like it, but you are totally hot right after a workout.

Guys am I right?

My Workout

That was a tough run yet so short. The first .6 miles were with my little girl running and walking. The rest was mostly ruining but a little under halfway through the remaining run I had an asthma attack that nearly put me to the ground. That’s what I get for rushing and not prepping. Still though, not bad considering all the hiccups.

Edit: I should point Pitt that I lived the run, even if it was rough.

I ran with MapMyRun! Distance: 1.64mi, time: 24:43, pace: 15:06min/mi, speed: 3.97mi/h. http://mapmyrun.com/workout/275456188

I know this isn’t directly related to triathlon … but it’s a really amazing, simple message.  And so much of endurance sport is mental.  So, I’m sharing this.  A great reminder / exercise that, if enough people do it, can change the energy in a community.

Please enjoy and share.

Great video that gives some perspective.
